I'm rewiring my 62 Impala Wagon dash and need a diagram/picture of the dash light sockets placements ie. Bright light, Parking Brake, Dash lights, Left & Right Turn Signal. I'm too old to get under to see but could probable feel for the "holes" (LOL). TIA

No easy way to do this, but I just did this on my '65. I pulled the instrument panel and wired it on the bench with a new harness. That way you can test all the bulbs and harness with a 12V source before buttoning back up just to be sure all is working. Then you just have to hook up the multi-connector.
My '65 has the wire colors stamped into the back of the panel at each "hole" - not sure about your '62. Other guys here would know. Hard to see when underneath, but easy on the bench, but you might be able to see them if you have a good light.
I would p/u an assembly manual if you don't have one, as it has pics of how everything goes together. Also has a wiring diagram with the wire colors identified, (which may be better quality than the one I posted)
https://i5chevy.com/62-chevy-impala-facto ry-assemb... or check out this link -- may find some useful info...
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/e6y4bdp4z7oagvr/NP 7MLTY...

I also pulled my seats out to let me lie on my back more easily -- much easier and will actually save you time.
Lastly, get a good Fenix head lamp if you don't have one -- Makes the under dash work merely difficult instead of impossible. Dash Light Sockets Placements - Chevy Message Forum (5)

Thanks for the pic! If you look carefully at the holes, you will see a color listed (tan, blue, etc.). These correspond to the wire colors on your harness and they correspond to the colors listed on the wiring diagram. (at least they should, if you have a good harness). Might try to clean the back of the panel up with some steel wool so you can see the letters more easily.
Nice '62. I am a sucker for wagons...

There's the crux...panel in still in the dash so can't see the back. I could only see a couple of holes and can probably feel the other holes I can't see to insert the light sockets.
The picture I posted above is from ebay that helped to ascertain the holes locations.
Thx

Oh. Can you see the colors of the wires on the installed harness? If so, should be able to figure it out from the wiring diagram.
1. Yes, I would guess the two outboard are turn indicators. Wires would be: Dark Blue Right, Light blue Left. The top three would be general lighting (gray wires) and the bottom four the indicator lights. Generator - 2-wire brown and tan. High beam - light green. Temp - 2-wire Tan and Dark Green, Brake - Black wire, Oil pressure: 2-wire tan and dark blue. If you get a couple mixed up, it won't hurt anything and you can switch them back. You can try to shine a light up from behind to light up the "signage" if you can't remember what order they are in left to right. Hope this helps

I have 4 or 5 original dash pieces not mounted on the removable dash section. I can post some closeup pictures of the back side.

The 61 & 62 dash pieces with the speedometer are marked by “lettering in the metal” by each socket.
Also I have a sketch of the back of the dash, that I made to count the lights needed, since I am converting all my dash bulbs in my 62’s to LED bulbs that fit the factory sockets ( they are 2-3 times brighter than the stock # 57 or #53 bulbs ( replaced by # 1895 bulbs)
All the gray wires are light bulbs to light the dash, the ignition switch and heater controls.
Only the brake light flashing bulb - that lights when depressing the emergency brake can’t be replaced with LED bulbs.

As stated it is very difficult to replace the bulbs in 61 & 62 dashes - the steering column & pedals limit the access.
I would consider dropping the steering column to the seat or on a box - then lay the removed dash section on boxes on both sides of the column.
Removing the front seat or bucket seats makes access much easier if you do not remove the dash insert.

I appreciate both replies.
I have an American Autowire kit for a 61/62 that each wire is labeled and colored as to what to connect. I'm guessing the left lower hole is for the generator light and the lower right must be for the parking brake light.
That leaves the four upper holes and am guessing they should be dash lights (?). The bottom is the High Beam?

Another question popped up on the fuel gauge. There are two spades, one should be to the sender and the other to ignition (12v). Which is the sender spade? Oops sorry for the large image but that's all I had.

The 1962 Chevrolet assembly manual has a drawing showing the wiring layout labeled in Section 12 sheet 14.
Page 15 shows the 3 gauges including the gas gauge.

The gas gauge with the two spades is connected with a dual connector plug.
